Rhea Ripley & Nikki A.S.H. are the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions as they defeated Natalya & Tamina on this week’s RAW. Natalya & Tamina have held the titles since May after defeating Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax.
Along with being a former RAW Women’s Champion, this title win for Nikki makes her the first woman to win the tag team titles three times (twice prior with Alexa Bliss). Ripley has now become the first woman to have held the NXT UK, NXT, RAW, and Women’s Tag Team Championships in her career.
The two former RAW Women’s Champions who were just foes have formed quite the team over the past number of weeks. They have picked up several wins in the process against Tamina & Natalya in both tag team and singles matches.
During the match, Nikki found herself unable to tag out as Ripley was still on the outside after Tamina tossed her over the top rope. After a Samoan Drop from Tamina, she didn’t go for the cover but instead went up top which cost her.
Natalya tried to lock in a sharpshooter on Nikki but was distracted by Ripley and Tamina on the outside. Ripley drove Tamina into the ring apron with the Riptide. Nikki reversed Natalya’s attempt into a small package to get the three count which solidifies her and Ripley as the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
