The current RAW Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley has praise for a fellow champion under the WWE umbrella.
She spoke favorably of the current NXT UK Women’s Champion Kay Lee Ray saying that she could do very well on any US brand. Ripley, the inaugural NXT UK Women’s Champion, tells BT Sport that KLR could take over NXT, SmackDown, or RAW if she wanted to.
“I can see her coming to America, and if she wanted to, she could take over NXT, and if she wanted to she could take over RAW or SmackDown. She is absolutely fantastic. I love watching her work. I love watching her cut a promo. I wish I could cut a promo like that. I love watching her in the ring, I think that she’s absolutely fantastic.
I got to be in the ring with her at the first-ever women’s WarGames match and that’s the only time that I got to wrestle her. But, in that little bit of time, it felt so right and she was just so good at everything.
I was like ‘Damn, this girl she could go, and she could take over if she really wanted to.’ I’m really excited to see what she does in the future. But right now, I want to see how long she can hold on to that NXT UK Women’s Championship because that’s impressive.” [h/t: Inside the Ropes]
As of today, Ray is at 623-days as NXT UK Women’s Champion. She knows who her next opponent will be and that is Meiko Satomura. Satomura won a five-woman Gauntlet Match on this past week’s episode of NXT UK. Ray does have a win over Satomura as the champ defeated her in March.
Ray recently spoke with Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT stating that she would want all four of the current champions across all brands to take on the Four Horsewomen.
