WWE UK superstar Rhea Ripley reportedly sustained a torn ligaments in her left foot. According to Fightful and Squared Circle Sirens, she is expected to miss up to eight weeks of action.
Despite the injury, Ripley was able to compete at WWE WrestleMania Axxess this past weekend. She managed to compete, but she was seen sporting a walking boot in pictures afterwards.
The walking boot has been prominent since Mar. 21, when Ripley uploaded a picture to her Twitter featuring the boot. Earlier reports suggested WWE believed the injury was just a minor sprain, but it seems more serious than anyone thought.
The Australian-born superstar rose to fame with a promising performance in the inaugural Mae Young Classic in 2017, before debuting a new look and attitude for the second Classic last year. She was able to make it all the way to the semifinals before losing to Io Shirai.
Ripley made history this past year, as the first-ever WWE UK Women’s Champion. She would drop the title to Toni Storm at the inaugural NXT UK Takeover in Blackpool, and failed to regain it in the subsequent rematch.
We here at Diva Dirt wish Rhea Ripley a speedy recovery.
