Rick Cataldo may be a male, but he is a staple in women’s wrestling. With over a decade long career on the indies working with the likes Mercedes Martinez, Sunny, Alicia and Becky Bayless. “The Boy Diva” has blazed a trail as an openly gay wrestler and an intergender wrestler. Needless to say, Cataldo is one of the biggest voices of the LGBT community in wrestling, as well currently one-half of the WSU Tag Team Champions with Eddy McQueen as the Fella Twins.
If you’re unfamiliar with his work, have a look inside his world:
Rick talks with Diva Dirt at length about his upbringing in the business, his runs at Women’s Superstars Uncensored and New York Wrestling Connection, and his favorite feuds and opponents. Rick also discusses NYWC’s upcoming LGBT event, A Matter of Pride.
Clocking in at well over an hour, this interview is sure to be a must listen as “The Boy Diva” pulls no punches and breaks it down like only he can through his stories, shade and a very amusing game of word association!
NYWC’s “A Matter of Pride” will take place Sunday, September 18th at the NYWC Sportatorium in Deer Park, New York. Visit here for more information on the event.
