Riho becomes the seventh name qualified for the upcoming Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. She defeated Yuka Sakazaki in the last qualifying match on the May 6 episode of AEW Rampage.
The victory has now put the brackets into focus as seven of the eight women have qualified. the eighth spot will be a ”Joker” meaning it will be a surprise entry. The tournament will start next week on Rampage with Riho vs. Ruby Soho. Jamie Hayter vs. Toni Storm will take place on the May 11 episode of Dynamite.
The full brackets for the quarterfinals are listed below –
- Toni Storm vs. Jamie Hayter
- Dr. Britt Baker vs. “Joker”
- Riho vs. Ruby Soho
- Red Velvet vs. Hikaru Shida
Also on this week’s Rampage there was a tag team match between four of the Owen Hart Cup participants. Storm and Soho battled Baker and Hayter.
The final moments of the match had Baker with a stomp on Storm. Hayter attempted to block Soho breaking up the pin but to no avail. Soho dropped Hayter out of the ring before Baker clocked Soho with a boot.
Storm rolled through for a pin on Baker to get the victory.
