Riho retains AEW Women’s Championship

In the first AEW Dynamite of 2020, an epic 4-way match for the AEW Women’s Championship took place, which saw Riho claim the victory and retain her AEW Women’s Championship.

The match pitted Riho against Nyla Rose, Britt Baker and Hiraku Shida against each other in a fast, furious and exciting match.

The match was hard-hitting, high-impact and fast-paced with strong moves and near falls aplenty. All competitors would get a chance to shine during the match.

Nyla would dominate throughout the match tossing her much lighter opponents around with ease. Baker would continue to look good with well-placed superkicks and submissions. Shida would continue to draw the admiration of the fans with her with powerful moves and precise strikes. Riho would once again prove that her size doesn’t matter as she flew about the ring using her knees and feet as weapons to devastating effect.

The victory would come after Riho would use her speed and roll up Baker for the pinfall.

After the match, Rose would attack her and drive her through a table with a brutal top turnbuckle splash.

Riho will defend her title on Jan, 8. against number one contender Kris Statlander in a match originally scheduled for this show but due to scheduling conflicts, the match was placed on hold and replaced with tonight’s 4-way match. As number one contender Statlander would face the victor of the 4-way match and with Riho retaining the champion and challenger will meet in the originally planned highly anticipated match up.
