This week’s AEW Dynamite aired on Tuesday due to MLB action on TBS. During the “Title Tuesday” episode, Toni Storm was tasked with defending her interim AEW Women’s Championship against former champion Hikaru Shida.
The women’s bout aired early in the night, taking place in the second match. After lots of back and forth as expected, Storm retained via pinfall by using Storm Zero. Unfortunately for Storm, the target on her back has not gone away.
Jamie Hayter and Rebel were quick to attack the champ shortly before Britt Baker marched out in a Steelers jersey. Britt almost reached the ring when Saraya marched out and tackled the former champion to further the developing feud that will no doubt result in a huge return match before the year is over.
To add to the excitement, Riho made her return to help take out Hayter and Rebel. As a result of the brawl, Riho will face Hayter on next week’s Dynamite. This will mark Riho’s first stateside AEW match since May.
This Friday’s episode of Rampage will air live from Jacksonville, Florida. Jade Cargill has promised to hijack the show if she does not get her TBS Championship back from Nyla Rose. We will also see Penelope Ford take on Willow Nightingale.
