On the Aug. 7 episode of Raw we saw some advances in some storylines as well as a fresh match between Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler.
The Stark and Baszler encounter came from the Becky Lynch promo where she was saying her final words about Trish Stratus before they have their match next week. Lynch wants to be over and past Stratus and to move on and she intends to do that after defeating her next week. This of course prompted Stark to come out who said that Lynch is just upset that Stratus kicked her to the side and picked her instead.
Baszler’s music hit as makes her way to the ring. Lynch told her that she was looking rough after her fight with Rousey at SummerSlam. Baszler said that she should see how Rousey looks tonight but she won’t as she ran her out of WWE. This led to a “thank you Shayna” chant from the crowd. Baszler would get into the face of Stark asking her who is the baddest? Stark says if she keeps getting in her face then she will send her out of WWE like Rousey was.
The match was made official in the moment as Lynch would sit at ringside drinking her lemonade. The lemons she turned into lemonade after being cut from the SummerSlam card of course!
The match came next which had Baszler pulling out the win. Final moments of the match had Lynch distract Stark which had Baszler lock in the Kirifuda Clutch in the ropes. After forcing the break, Stark targets her injured arm by hanging her up on the top rope. Baszler eventually after a few tries gets Stark up on her shoulders and delivers the Worlds Baddest Slam or to Rousey, the Piper’s Pit. Lynch then spit her lemonade out like Triple H to end the segment.
Later in the night, Baszler approached Lynch who was being interviewed and told her she didn’t need any of her help and would love to run in back with her in the near future.
Elsewhere on Raw, we see that Raquel Rodriguez is still not medically cleared to compete against the Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley. Ripley has taken out Rodriguez yet again last week which is keeping her out of action. An angered Rodriguez was joined in medical by Indi Hartwell and Candice LeRae who tried to comfort her letting her know she just isn’t ready yet.
Later in the night right as Judgment Day were making their entrance, Rodriguez attacked Ripley and a huge brawl brawl broke out. This led to various officials and referees to come out to stop it and pull them apart. However, LeRae and Hartwell came out to try and stop Rodriguez, but Ripley started attacking them. She threw Hartwell in the barrier and then went after LeRae who got in her punches as well.
Maxxine Dupri was also on the show. She seems to have moved past Valhalla and now Alpha Academy is entering a feud with Imperium as Ludwig Kaiser started to show interest in Dupri.
Lastly, it was confirmed from the news earlier in the day by TMZ that Sonya Deville has been sidelined with an ACL injury. Her surgery is set for today. They did not go into detail on what is next for Chelsea Green and the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles.
Deville did take the time to go on her social media however to address the fans about her injury.
