Former WWE Superstar Rosa Mendes, real name Milena Roucka, has began training for an in-ring return by joining Maryland Championship Wrestling’s (MCW).
Co-Owner of MCW, Dan McDevitt, posted on Facebook his appreciation of Mendes coming to MCW and asking for this opportunity. She took to Twitter to share her excitement on making a return:
Fell asleep early, and now I’m up thinking about how I can’t wait to get back in the ring tomorrow, being in that ring is the best feeling in the world, although I’m so sore. It’s so worth it ??

Mendes retired from the WWE last February of 2017, just one year after she had her daughter. Prior to having her daughter, Mendes was in the WWE since 2006 when she appeared in a Diva Search and placed 4th (the same Diva Search that Layla won and Maryse was also a part of).
Mendes played a lot of different roles with the company. Her main focus, however, was being either a manager or valet for other male and female Superstars. She started her on-screen role as Beth Phoenix‘s intern. She appeared as a “fan” in the crowd and quickly showed her allegiance and support of Phoenix.
She did start participating in the ring, but it was mostly either with a multitude of tag partners or battle royals. The one on one matches she did participate in were few and far between. After she managed several wrestlers such as Carlito, Zack Ryder, and Alicia Fox.
Mendes most memorable managing role was perhaps when she was managed Primo and Epico‘s from 2011 to 2013. The team went on to capture the WWE Tag Team Championships at a house show by defeating Air Boom.
After a hiatus, handling some personal issues, she came back and was put right into the cast of Total Divas for Season 3. Mendes grew a lot during her stint on Total Divas. She was able to put on more matches because of this spotlight. She became more than just a manager/valet and wanted to prove her athleticism in the ring. She even declared she wanted to go for the Diva’s title.
Now that Mendes is back in the ring and is training where former WWE Superstar and 3-time MCW Heavyweight Champion, Joey Matthews (Mercury) is currently performing, the potential of her comeback is incredible.
