Ruby Riott announces Royal Rumble entry

Tonight on SmackDown Live (Dec 26th), Ruby Riott took on Naomi in a one-on-one match.

In a pre-taped segment prior to the match, Riott announced her entrant to the Royal Rumble match. She says that Rumble is just a fancy word for riot and come next month, she will be last woman standing at the Royal Rumble.

During the quick match-up, Naomi and Riott trades fists of fury which came to an end after Riott landed a knee to the midsection and dropped Naomi to the mat.

Riott scooped up Naomi, looking for a bodyslam but Naomi was able escape by slipping from behind. She dodged Riott’s attack and headed to the ropes to land a springboard Enziguri for a two count.

From ringside, the other two members of the Riott Squad, Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan, jumped to the ring apron to try and help Riott out but they were knocked off by Naomi. However the small distraction was enough for Riott to attack Naomi from behind and then deliver the Riott Kick for the win.

Post match, the Riott Squad continued their attack on Naomi until the SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair ran in to make the save. Flair started off strong but the numbers game eventually got to Flair, giving the Riott Squad the advantage.

Afterwards, Natalya music hit and she is accompanied by Carmella, Lana and Tamina for a brawl with the Riott Squad, eventually chasing the group away.

During WWE’s SmackDown Fallout, Natalya placed entry to Royal Rumble as well and has set her sight for the Women’s Title at WrestleMania.
