Tonight on SmackDown Live (Feb 27th), Ruby Riott gained some momentum ahead of her SmackDown Women’s Title at Fastlane by defeating Naomi.
Fellow Riott Squad members Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan were at ringside for Riott while Becky Lynch and the SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair accompanied Naomi to even up the playing field.
Riott starts the match by shoving Naomi, which Naomi responds with right forearms. Riott lands a right knee to the midsection and whips her to a corner but Naomi leaps to the corner and for a stink face to Riott.
After taking a slap to the face, Riott slides to the outside where she gets collects herself while getting a pep talk from Morgan and Logan. Naomi, Flair, and Lynch followed behind them, leading to a stare down from both groups as we head for a break.
When we return, Riott is in control after pulling Noami’s leg as she jumped onto the second rope. Naomi fights through a grounded submission and reverses a back suplex attempt from Riott. Both women go for high kicks but miss their first attacks. They go for a second high kick, this time hitting it simultaneously.
Naomi gains control and takes Riott down with a springboard enziguri for a two count. Naomi sends Riott to the ropes to set up for the Rear View but Riott counters with by holding onto the ropes and striking Naomi with a kick to the face.
Naomi creates separation by kicking Riott from the ring apron. She climbs the turnbuckle but misses her high flying attack. She lands on her feet and stuns Riott with a scorpion kick. She grabs Riott and head to a turnbuckle but Riott counters by sending Naomi facefirst to the top turnbuckle. Riott capitalizes to hit the Riott Kick and gets the three count.
