Sarah Logan on her time in the Riott Squad and not ruling out a return to the ring

Sarah Logan has certainly had a whirlwind of a year. She was released from her WWE contract back in April and has recently announced that she is expecting her first child. Her and her husband, WWE Superstar Erik, have confirmed the baby is a boy. Right before this announcement, Logan mentioned that she was taking a step back from wrestling.

She recently spoke with Wrestling Inc. in regard to her time with WWE and being a member of The Riott Squad. She spent the majority of her time with the company in that stable along with Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan.

They bursted onto the main roster scene at the same time as another stable known as Absolution. That group was Paige, Mandy Rose, and Sonya Deville. One was on RAW while the other was on SmackDown. However, their similarities and debuts were quite obvious at the time.

“I don’t think [Absolution] hurt [our momentum],” Sarah said. “But the only frustrating part was that we mimicked Absolution for so long. Like, they would do something, then we would do something. We happened to be on Tuesday and they were on Monday, so everyone knew on Monday what we were doing on Tuesday.”

She would then go on and discuss her relationships with both Riott and Morgan. Logan was concerned about her closeness to Riott and didn’t want Morgan to feel excluded by any means. She addressed it as follows:

“I was just worried about Liv feeling… Not as much as part of the group, because me and Ruby had so much history,” Sarah explained. “Me and Ruby were already friends. And Liv, Liv can make friends with a freaking broomstick. She’s just, you know, so outgoing.

She continued, “I remember I had a talk with Ruby that I was like, ‘I want Liv to feel included, so we’re traveling with each other together.’ We ended up not having to try at all because she just clicked, but I remember having the conscious decision to make this girl feel included because I didn’t want her to feel left out. Because we already had such an established history in me and Ruby.”

Logan also talks about when she made the announcement that she was taking a step back from wrestling. She will not say that she is retiring as she is certain she will be back. She spoke om D-Von Dudley’s Table Talk podcast that no one ever really retires from wrestling. It is that age-old saying.

“No one retires from professional wrestling. I never said I was retired, but no one retires. Ric Flair can’t even retire. D-Von [can’t retire],” Logan said on D-Von Dudley’s Table Talk podcast.

“I’m sure one day I will come back to wrestling. I’ve only wrestled since I was 17 years old. When you specialize in something like I specialized in wrestling, you only show a fraction of who you are. I’m really enjoying starting my farm and getting this YouTube thing together. I have some stuff within the hunting and outdoor community releasing soon-ish.

I’m just gonna be a badass mom for awhile. I’m just trying to wear that crown for a little bit. I’m sure I’ll get back to wrestling. It’s something that I grew up on and is in my blood and I’ll definitely come back. If I can give my child the most stable life I can and introduce wrestling in there, I want that Beth Phoenix/Edge life.” (credit transcripts to Fightful)
