AEW Dynamite featured a major heel turn.
In a backstage segment, Saraya yelled at Hikaru Shida for inadvertently costing her and Toni Storm last week’s tag match against Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter. She also put down “AEW homegrown girls” for being in a bubble before ordering Shida to stay backstage during Storm’s match against Willow Nightingale.
Mid-way through Storm vs. Willow, Shida joined Saraya at ringside with a kendo stick in hand. The physical bout continued with Willow pouncing Storm and delivering a cannon ball in the corner. Saraya then got on the apron, which allowed Storm to take advantage to score the roll-up victory after seven minutes.
Post-match, Saraya and Storm both beat down Nightingale to solidify their heel turn until Ruby Soho ran down to chase them off. While the two teams stared each other down, Shida watched confusingly.
Looking ahead to Friday’s Rampage, we know that TBS Champion Jade Cargill and Leila Grey will be in tag action against opponents to be announced.
