Saraya has been handling multiple interviews as of late to promote the release of her new book, Hell in Boots: Clawing My Way Through Nine Lives, which is now available. Of course, while discussing what is currently going on in her life, the current AEW talent talks about her in-ring future. She has already confirmed that her AEW contract is coming up in September and has even gone on to mention that her in-ring career will likely be over very soon.
One match that everyone has been wanting to see is Saraya taking on Mercedes Mone in AEW. The two have a history in WWE, but they have not met in the ring for nearly eight years. Their last encounter was in 2017 during a WWE holiday house show in a six woman tag team match. This would be when Saraya (then-Paige) reinjured her neck.
While speaking with Casual Conversations with the Classics, Saraya stated the following on a potential future match –
“I don’t know. I mean, we both wanted to, so we were just waiting for that trigger to be pulled. But I think she has other people that she has to wrestle for right now, so I don’t know when that time would be. Unfortunately, I may not be there to be able to do that with her,” she said. “It should have happened a while ago, but it is what it is. We wanted it, but it hasn’t been the right time, I guess.”
