Saraya, fka Paige, is officially #AllElite.
In the semi-main event of AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam, Toni Storm put her AEW Interim Women’s Championship on the line in a four-way against Britt Baker, Athena, and Serena Deeb.
The match started around 9:15 p.m. ET with Deeb shining in the first couple of minutes with unique pins and submission holds. A picture-in-picture commercial break started three minutes in and lasted three minutes.
Post-commercial, Deeb went on a tear against all three of her opponents until Athena turned the tide by dropping Baker and tossing Deeb at the same time. Athena nearly defeated Storm, but Deeb broke the cover.
Britt’s nose was busted open in the process. She tried to apply the Lock Jaw on Storm, but the champ reversed it for the final pinfall to retain in a bout that was just short of 10 minutes. Baker continued to beat down Storm until Jamie Hayter joined her. Hayter who has had a recent falling out with Baker decided to assist.
Deeb attacked Athena on the other side of the ring until new theme music hit… and out walked Saraya to a huge reaction at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Saraya did not physically get involved, but the heels retreated immediately. She raised the hands of Storm and Athena to wrap up the segment.
Tony Khan confirmed via Twitter that Saraya is officially #AllElite by posting a graphic. Saraya departed WWE over the summer after her contract expired. She has not been medically cleared to compete since December 2017.
This Friday’s AEW Rampage will be a two-hour Grand Slam edition and will feature Jade Cargill defending the TBS Championship against Diamante. In a backstage segment on Dynamite, Diamante confirmed that rapper Trina will be accompanying her to the ring on Friday.
