Marigold’s Sareee has won the prestigious Tokyo Sports Women’s MVP Award for 2024.
Sareee told Tokyo Sports that she had been aiming for the Tokyo Sports Women’s MVP award since she became a pro wrestler, adding that it’s the happiest she’s ever been in her life receiving it. The article adds that she had tears in her eyes.
“The Sun God” promises that winning this award is only the beginning for her.
The new Marigold promotion was founded in April of this year, and Sareee was crowned its first Marigold World Champion. She defeated Giulia at Marigold Summer Destiny to crown the first champion. Sareee also wrestles for Sukeban which is a newer Japanese American promotion started last year. She is the current and first Sukeban World Champion. She is a triple champion as she reigns as Seadlinnngs, Beyond the Sea Single Champion as well.
Three other talents, Mayu Iwatani, Bull Nakano, and Dump Matsumoto will receive 202; Tokyo Sports Topic Awards.
Iwatani will receive it for her IWGP Women’s Championship reign as well as the film “Runaway Wrestler.”
Nakano receives the award after being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame earlier this year.
Matsumoto is receiving the award due to the incredibly popular “Queen of Villains” Netflix series.
