The Boss is back!!
Sasha Banks made her SmackDown return on tonight’s show after being absent for nearly four months. She came to the aid of SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair.
The setup for her return involved Belair in the ring being interviewed by Kayla Braxton celebrating 110-days as SmackDown Women’s Champion. As Belair soaked in the chants from the crowd, Carmella interrupts to “congratulate her.” The most beautiful woman in WWE tried to coerce Belair in giving her another title shot to have her third in a row.
Zelina Vega’s music hits and she makes her way to ring noting that someone as beautiful as Carmella wouldn’t want to lose for a third time. Vega followed up by saying what she has to say to Belair she wants to say to her face. She says the WWE Universe wants to see Belair have a title match with a rising star such as herself. She wants a title match and says no one is more deserving than her and she is the moment. Belair was more than happy to accept that challenge.
Vega and Carmella then both attack the champion starting with Carmella jumping Belair from behind. After the duo does enough damage to Belair, Sasha Banks’ music hits and the former SmackDown Women’s Champion rushes down to the ring.
Banks clears the ring as she takes care of both Vega and Carmella before helping up a leary Belair to embrace her with a hug. She and Belair then celebrate the return of The Boss in the ring as the segment ends.
The last time we saw Banks, she was fuming on the SmackDown after WrestleMania. She was so speechless after her loss to Belair at WrestleMania that she stomped away from a backstage interview.
WWE Authority Sonya Deville and Adam Pearce agreed on a tag team match to main event the show between Carmella and Zelina Vega vs. Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks.
The tag team match ended with a win for Banks and Belair after The Boss caused Carmella to tap in the Bank Statement.
As the two celebrated their win in the ring, Banks turned on Belair and delivered a backstabber. She followed it up by delivering blows to the champion in the corner into a tornado DDT. The show ended with Banks firmly locking in the Bank Statement laughing as Belair tries to escape.
