It is being reported by PWInsider that Sasha Banks and Naomi have been removed from WWE’s internal roster. This was said to have taken place over the past 24 hours. PWInsider added, that they have heard rumblings that Banks may be doing some signings outside of WWE as early as the Fall but no official confirmation.
It has not been officially confirmed that Banks and Naomi have been released from WWE at the time of this writing and their profiles continue to appear on WWE.com.
On June 15, Raj Giri from Wrestling Inc. stated that Banks had been released from WWE. It was unclear if she requested her release or if it was on WWE’s end. This was later confirmed by WrestleVotes that Banks was released. Fightful added that it was under the impression from many talents that she was no longer with the company and that both sides were just holding out to release a statement. PWInsider at that time stated that both Banks and Naomi were listed internally at that time.
Banks & Naomi were indefinitely suspended on May 20 after walking out the day of Raw on May 16. WWE issued the following statement at that time -“they walked into WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis’ office with their suitcases in hand, placed their tag team championship belts on his desk, and walked out.”
The duo were currently the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions when they won the gold at WrestleMania 38. They were set to participate in a Six-pack challenge on the May 16 episode of Raw. It was reported that there were backstage disagreements about the booking of the tag team division.
Neither Banks nor Naomi has commented publicly about the situation or their current status.
