It was announced on this week’s SmackDown that Sasha Banks and Naomi are now suspended indefinitely and no long WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. The team won the tag titles in a Fatal 4-way at WrestleMania 38.
On the May 16 episode of Raw, there was a planned main event that involved both Banks and Naomi in a six-pack challenge to determine the number one contender for the Raw Women’s Champion. The match did not take place and on-screen it was confirmed they walked out of the venue. Reports started coming out both by WWE and by outside sources of what went down.
On the May 20 episode of SmackDown, commentary confirmed that Banks and Naomi have been suspended indefinitely and that they are no longer champions. A future tournament to crown new champions will take place.
