Last night on Raw, Ronda Rousey received her first loss since joining WWE, a year ago. Lucky for her, it was a loss handed down in a tag team match and she was not the one to tap out. The team of Sasha Banks and Bayley, Boss ‘n’ Hug Connection, defeated Rousey and Natalya in the evening’s main event, when Natalya tapped out to Sasha’s Bank Statement.
Even though, Rousey’s singles career win-record is still intact, The Boss has no problem letting the Raw Women’s Champion know she is no longer the undefeated Superstar she has always been. Banks even implied that this coming Sunday at the Royal Rumble, her losing streak will continue.
Banks tweeted out to Rousey this afternoon, stating “No matter how they try to spin it, the record books will always read 1/21/19 #BossNHugConnection DEFEATED Natalya AND Ronda Rousey. Here’s the thing about being handed your first loss… It won’t be your last. See you Sunday”.
Banks has been very outspoken when its comes to Rousey, implying she has been handed the opportunities she has received because of her high-profile name. An hour after her tweet, she continued to speak her mind on Instagram.
The Boss has been floundering for a while now with no real direction from WWE, and it has been apparent she has been very unhappy. Although she and her off-screen “bestie” Bayley are having a great time teaming up, Banks is a singles star who should be utilized as such. Perhaps, the tides have changed now that she has been given the limelight and a championship match at arguably the second biggest pay-per-view of the year.
Whether or not she wins this coming Sunday at the Royal Rumble in Phoenix, at least WWE is giving one of their best women superstars the spotlight. Win or lose, Rousey and Banks should put on an amazing match.
Who do you have winning the Raw Women’s Championship match on Sunday?
