A second women’s match has been added to the upcoming MLW Kings of Colosseum event. Brittany Blake will be taking on Zoey Skye. Skye is the current SHIMMER Champion. Both women have performed for MLW before as the promotion is planning on ramping up its women’s division.
The previously announced match will determine the inaugural MLW Women’s Featherweight Champion as Taya Valkyrie faces Holidead. The belt itself was designed by Wildcat Belts and it has feathers, diamonds, the goddess of war, and the MLW logo.
Fightful has also provided more news regarding the women’s division of MLW. The division is being streamlined by Dave Prazak, the co-owner and founder of SHIMMER. While speaking with Court Bauer, the women’s division will have multiple weight divisions much like they do with the men. He indicated that in the future, MLW could also do a middleweight division champion.
Bauer spoke highly of Prazak for overseeing the women’s division and said that he’s a visionary in women’s wrestling. He would like to bring in Cathy Corino (Allison Danger) who is the other founder of SHIMMER. Conversations with Corino have not taken place yet.
Eventually, the endgame is to have an all-women’s TV show and they think that it is possible.
