The NWA World Women’s Champion Serena Deeb is set to return to the ring for the first time in three months.
She has been out of action since Feb. 17 when she last faced Riho on theat episode of Dynamite. Prior to that, she faced Tay Conti in a successful title defense in January. She was sidelined to take care of an issue she had with her knee.
Deeb is scheduled for NWA’s next pay-per-view event When Our Shadows Fall on June 6 but fans won’t have to wait until then to see her back in the ring.
Next week, Deeb will be putting her championship on the line against the number five ranking woman in AEW – Red Velvet.
This will be Red Velvet’s first championship match on AEW programming. Other than her two losses to Jade Cargill (in both singles and tag team bouts), Velvet hasn’t lost a match whether it has been in singles or tag team competition since November.
As for Deeb returning to NWA where her championship is housed, her match at their next event hasn’t been confirmed. Currently, Kamille is the number one contender but her contendership is on the line against Thunder Rosa in an upcoming rematch. To add to that rematch, if Rosa loses that match then she will have to remain and wrestle only in the NWA promotion.
On tonight’s Dynamite, there were two very short interviews for Cargill and Dr. Britt Baker. Thunder Rosa was in action in a less than two-minute match against Jazmin Allure where she was victorious. Previously only seen on Dark or Elevation, this was Allure’s debut match on Dynamite.
