The NWA Women’s World Champion and AEW star, Serena Deeb recently spoke on the Women’s Wrestling Podcast. During the interview, she spoke very highly about a certain NXT star.
Deeb has been making waves on the women’s wrestling scene ever since she appeared on AEW Dynamite as a surprise opponent for Thunder Rosa. So good and well-received was her performance in the match that AEW signed her to a deal shortly after. Deeb would then go onto defeat Thunder Rosa for the NWA Women’s World Championship on UWN’s Prime Time Live.
Before Deeb became a part of the AEW roster she coached other at the WWE Performance Center. However, due to the pandemic, WWE released her from her contract along with several other wrestlers and employees.
In the interview, Deeb talked about which NXT performer impressed her the most during her time as a coach at the WWE Performance Center. Heres what Deeb had to say;
“There are some who are naturals and wrestling just clicks with. Rhea Ripley is an example of that. She was somebody that from the second I saw her, I was like, ‘ok, the girl is going to be a star and do big things in this business.’ And watching the growth of someone in the time I was there was really rewarding, and I’m just proud.”
