AEW has announced that fans will be getting a second women’s match at this Sunday’s AEW Double or Nothing event. It will be on the Buy In preshow and have the NWA World Women’s Championship on the line as the champion Serena Deeb defends against Riho.
These two women last met in a match during the AEW Women’s TItle Tournament to crown a new number one contender back in February. In that bout Riho won and advanced in the tournament. Deeb then took time off for medical reasons and returned last week to put the title on the line against Red Velvet on Dynamite. Deeb retained.
NWA is having their own pay-per-view, When Our Shadows Fall, the following weekend on June 6. Deeb is scheduled to appear for that event. Kamille is technically the number one contender for that match. However, after her time limit draw against Thunder Rosa this week a match for the title hasn’t officially been announced.
The AEW Women’s Championship will also be on the line this Sunday as Hikaru Shida will defend her title she has held for over a year against Dr. Britt Baker.
AEW will not be on during its normal time tonight, but Dynamite will be shown on Friday night instead. Shida will have her celebration for her year long reign.
