Sexy Star claims she inspired the WWE Women’s Revolution

Sexy Star is making headlines this week, both for the victory in her MMA debut and for a controversial statement she made in an interview.

The former Lucha Underground Champion was a guest on “The Roman Show,” where she proclaimed she was the inspiration for what is now known as the WWE Women’s Revolution.

Sexy Star believes when she held the Lucha Underground Championship, the WWE took notice and the rest of history. She had this to say about her influence:

“I personally think that yes,” she said. “WWE took notice. I am proud that they gave me that opportunity as a woman, as a Mexican and as a warrior. I felt they (WWE) found out that that had a big buzz all over the world. I think it inspired them to act.”

Once, the interview was published, the wrestling community took notice and they weren’t shy about voicing their opinion on the matter. Some of the wrestlers who have responded on Twitter include Hurricane Helms, Paige, and Tessa Blanchard, to name a few.

Star is no stranger to controversy. Back in 2017, she dislocated Rosemary shoulder in a shoot armbar. These comments won’t definitely mend her reputations in the industry.
