Tonight on Lucha Underground, the temple and its believers witnessed the breaking of the glass ceiling as Sexy Star became the first woman to win the promotion’s top prize: the Lucha Underground Championship!
During Lucha’s big Aztec Warfare match, Sexy Star, who entered Aztec Warfare at number 12, outlasted 19 other luchadores (including Mariposa entering at number seven and Kobra Moon entering at number 19) to lay claim to the Lucha Underground gold.
Previous Lucha Underground Champion, the undefeated, Matanza Cueto entered Aztec War at number one (as per his confident brother Dario Cueto) but was eliminated by Rey Mysterio halfway through the match, thus assuring a new Lucha Underground would be crowned by the end of the night!
Other female sightings include Black Lotus who, with the help of a ninja tribe, eliminated Pentagon.

The final two competitors were Sexy Star and former Lucha Underground Champion Mil Muertes (accompanied by Catrina). Tables and chairs were introduced towards the end of the match and Sexy Star made the most of the No DQ stipulation by countering Muertes top rope attack, shoving him through a table and hitting a top rope stomp for the pin and title victory.
