Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax are the new Women’s Tag Team Champions at Payback after Baszler proved why she is called a submission magician. She applied a double submission to both Sasha Banks & Bayley. Bayley would tap out causing Banks to lose her second championship in a week.
This match could have gone either way. Baszler and Jax aren’t exactly friends and them wanting to fight each other originally makes their union a head scratcher. One the other side of the coin, Bayley and Banks have been bumping heads for the past several weeks.
Banks lost her RAW Women’s Title last Sunday at SummerSlam and the lack of help from Bayley was evident. Bayley rubbed salt into the wound on SmackDown saying that Banks continues to lose the RAW Women’s Title at her first defense for the fifth time.
Now, Bayley taps out at Payback which makes her and Banks lose the Women’s Tag Titles. Bayley still has her SmackDown Women’s Title, which if anyone had to guess, Banks is going to end up gunning for next. Both women are SmackDown talent after all.
Now that Baszler and Jax are tag team champs, what comes next?
Earlier in the night on the Payback Kickoff show, The IIconics battled the Riott Squad. These two teams have been battling back and forth for weeks. After the double knees from Liv Morgan to Billie Kay, Riott hit a Riott Kick. Riott picked up the pin for her team on Kay.
Could The Riott Squad be next in line to challenge the new champions?
