It was announced during this week’s AEW Dynamite that the AEW Women’s World Championship will be defended in a four-way match at AEW All In. With that being said, a small tournament is being held to determine the competitors.
In the main event of Dynamite, Hikaru Shida defended the Women’s title against Ann Jay to confirm who would be the defending champ at Wembley Stadium.
In the closing minutes, Jay hopped on Shida’s back, but Shida scaled the turnbuckle and dropped Jay on her back from the second rope to break it. Shida landed Falcon Arrow for a nearfall, but it wasn’t enough. Shida then kicked Jay in the head and pinned her for the three-count despite Angelo Parker trying to assist.
It is now confirmed that Shida will defend the gold in the four-way. Plus, Toni Storm has been announced for the title bout as she is exercising her rematch clause.
To fill out the rest of the field, Saraya will face Skye Blue on Friday’s Rampage, while the returning Bunny will face Britt Baker on the August 16 Dynamite.
As previously announced, this Saturday’s Collision will see Mercedes Martinez and Diamante take on Kris Statlander and Willow Nightingale.
