Unlike the major companies such as WWE, AEW, and IMPACT throughout the current health pandemic, wrestling has been on hiatus for most independent promotions. With indie shows requiring a crowd in order to put on their shows, the safety precautions as a result of COVID has drastically impacted them from happening.
SHIMMER has announced on their Twitter account that shows won’t be able to happen at their home in Berwyn, Ill. but they are looking to have a show in another state. The most recent SHIMMER shows were scheduled in April but had to be canceled.
Realistically, they stated that shows at the Eagle Club in Berwyn will not likely return until next year. However, they will be trying to put something together in Indiana later this year.
SHIMMER’s last show took place in November with Volume 117. The main event was the SHIMMER Champion Kimber Lee retaining her title against Havok.
Lee has been SHIMMER Champion since winning the title from Nicole Savoy at Volume 116 on Nov. 3. She has recently signed with IMPACT Wrestling officially announced on Aug. 4.
