Over the weekend, MLW taped its Battle Riot III event. At this event, fans started seeing the new partnership MLW has with the founder of SHIMMER, Dave Prazak. Just days ago, MLW unveiled some huge news that they will be launching a women’s division and it will be spearheaded by the SHIMMER founder.
On Saturday, two matches were part of the taping that involved four women. Willow Nightingale took on Ashley Vox while Brittany Blake took on Delmi Exo. While Willow got the win over Vox, Exo was able to defeat Blake.
The Sea Stars (Vox & Exo) have been rising up throughout the indie scene as of late and have also made appearances for AEW and IMPACT Wrestling this year. They are the current SHIMMER Tag Team Champions and have held the titles since defeating Cheerleader Melissa & Mercedes Martinez in November 2019. SHIMMER’s last event in October 2020 saw the Sea Stars defend and retain against Allysin Kay & Marti Belle. Both Nightingale and Blake also participated in that event.
Nightingale has been seen more frequently as of late. She has appeared for AEW on Dark & Elevation and is partaking in the upcoming Quest for Gold Tournament to crown a new ROH Women’s World Champion. As for Blake, her last match was at a SHINE event in June.
This show will air on July 24 on beIN Sports.
Check back in with Diva Dirt as we start to see more women appear for the MLW promotion.
