This Friday night, SmackDown celebrates it’s 500th episode! And to celebrate, Diva Dirt will be counting down the 5 Divas who we feel have made the biggest contribution to the blue brand over the years! Check back over the next five days for the results!
5. STEPHANIE MCMAHON
Length of service: General Manager, 2002-2003
Though Stephanie McMahon had been a SmackDown regular since it’s launch in 1999, her true era as a SmackDown Diva came when she was announced as the brand’s General Manager in 2002. Her reign on top was marred by many a controversy… including a bitter dispute with her father, Vince McMahon.
Perhaps the most “hands on” GM SmackDown has had, Stephanie feuded with her dad and his bit-on-the-side, Sable. Steph met Sable in a catfight at Vengeance 2003 and later faced Vince in a father vs daughter match at No Mercy.
Stephanie also spent her days as ruler of the blue brand, feuding with Raw GM, Eric Bischoff. The two traded proverbial blows as they stole each other’s Superstars and championship belts. They even shared a kiss at Halloween 2002.
Since leaving SmackDown in October 2003, Stephanie has made sporadic appearances on WWE television. Most recently, she became the GM of Raw.
