Tonight’s episode of SmackDown is a Throwback edition.
At the time of this writing, there hasn’t been anything officially announced for the women. However, WrestleMania Backlash is a week from this Sunday on May 16 and we have a SmackDown Women’s Title match to build towards. The champion Bianca Belair will be defending her title at that event against Bayley.
Last week, Belair pulled out a win alongside The Street Profits as they defeated Bayley, Dolph Ziggler, and Robert Roode in a mixed-tag team match.
The WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions have been having a very heated feud with Natalya and Tamina. The team of Natalya/Tamina has a team win over the champions plus Natalya has defeated Shayna Baszler and Tamina has defeated Nia Jax. Hopefully, we get some follow-up from Tamina’s promo from Talking Smack that took place last week.
Although a tag team match for the titles hasn’t been added to WrestleMania Backlash, it can be for certain that Tamina/Natalya will be getting another crack at the belts. The champions also have been embroiled in a feud with both Naomi/Lana as well as Mandy Rose/Dana Brooke on RAW.
Will we get a title match announced for the tag titles at WrestleMania Backlash from what takes place tonight?
Will we see any other talent tonight hopefully? Sasha Banks, Carmella, The Riott Squad, or even Mia Yim who was rumored to have moved to the blue brand but has yet to debut.
