SummerSlam takes place tomorrow Saturday, Aug. 21 and the biggest story surrounding it right now is the SmackDown Women’s Championship match. Tonight’s SmackDown is the last show before the big event.
Currently on the card is a highly anticipated WrestleMania rematch between the champion Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks. With this being said, the future of the match happening has gone back and forth since last weekend.
Both Belair and Banks missed two live shows last weekend. With only WWE stating at those live events that it was due to “unforeseen circumstances,” there hasn’t been much to go on officially. WWE has continued to advertise for the SummerSlam match on television and social media throughout the week.
After a report that came out from PWInsider who stated that the match was cleared to go forward, now the same source is stating Banks is not present at tonight’s SmackDown raising some concerns once again. Belair is reportedly present for tonight’s SmackDown.
Last week, the two opponents had a contract signing in which Zelina Vega and Carmella assisted The Boss in getting the upper hand.
If Banks isn’t cleared to compete, will we get a replacement for her at tomorrow’s SummerSlam?
