WWE’s SmackDown returns tonight to the historical Madison Square Garden in New York City.
SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch returned at SummerSlam. Her arrival back didn’t just shake up the fans but the victory mere seconds she had over Bianca Belair robbed many of a dream match. In an attempt to rectify not seeing this match take place to its fullest, Lynch will have to put her title on the line against Belair at Extreme Rules. Belair earned her rematch in a Fatal 4-Way a few weeks ago. Lynch and Belair sign the contract for their match at Extreme Rules tonight.
One woman that may be a factor in all this is Sasha Banks. Banks was slated to challenge Belair at SummerSlam in a rematch from WrestleMania that had many fans calling it a potential match of the night contender before it even took place. It ended up not taking place as Banks has not been seen since the SmackDown prior to SummerSlam due to unforeseen circumstances. Will The Boss return tonight?
Naomi has been waiting for a match since returning to the blue brand two weeks ago. Sonya Deville has been avoiding her and dismissing her every request. Naomi took to Twitter to remind Deville yesterday of SmackDown coming up and that she will be there waiting to have a match. She reminded her once again and this time received a response from Adam Pearce.
Hopefully, we will see Naomi in a match tonight because last week WWE seemed to have “forgotten” to give us a women’s match during the whole two hours.
The Women’s Tag Team Champions have arrived at the Garden. Will we see them on the show tonight? Perhaps Shotzi & Nox can finally receive a championship opportunity that they have earned at least 5 times now.
There have been 10 women who have held the SmackDown Women’s Championship over the course of the past five years. Who has been the best champion for the blue brand since the beginning of the title?
