You know what time it is, right? ADVENTURE TIME!!!! Wait, that’s not right, is it? It’s time for another edition of the SmackDown Redux! This week on the blue brand, Nikki Bella teams up with rookie Diva, Eva Marie to take on The Funkadactyls (Naomi and Cameron) in tag team action. But wait, there’s a twist! Fresh off her short hiatus, Summer Rae joins the party as the special guest referee. Will all the drama from Total Divas spill into this match? Of course it will! Check out the match below:
Both teams make their way to the ring, followed by our special guest referee for the match and we are treated to a video of Summer Rae’s return on Raw this past Monday. Summer rushes both teams to get ready, signals for the bell and our match is underway.
Nikki and Naomi start off for their respective teams with an impressive show of chain wrestling, going back and forth with each other. Nikki finally gets the upperhand with a facebuster over the knee, but Summer seems a bit distracted and doesn’t make a count. Nikki gets in her face, but that only allows Naomi to get a quick rollup from behind.
Nikki managed to kick out, but Naomi drags her to her corner and tags Cameron. After a few double teams and an impressive lungblower from Cameron, Nikki gets back into control with a dropkick and tags in Eva Marie. Eva and Nikki ground Cameron with a nifty tag team maneuver, but Summer is too busy checking her nails to make a count. Eva protests, but gets rolled up by Cameron for the quickest 3 count in Diva history, which I’m guessing is a counter to the slowest 3 count in Diva history from last week (I’m looking at you, Eva).
Thoughts: Short and sweet match based around Total Divas that doesn’t interfere with the Divas Championship angle whatsoever? I’ll take it! All four women did really well in their respective roles and Eva’s ring time was limited, which I think is a really good idea until she has some more training under her belt.
My only issue in this match is the inclusion of Summer. So is she feuding with Eva or Layla? If you are a fan that doesn’t watch Total Diva, this angle probably confused the hell out of you. WWE could have at least shown a video package of the issues between Eva and Summer, just to make sure everyone was on the same page. I’m just saying…
Well, that all we have for this week, Diva fans! Until next time… “I AM THE QUEEN!!!!!!!”
