On top of the Raw Women’s Championship match between Nia Jax and Ronda Rousey, the SmackDown Women’s Championship will also be defended as Carmella defends the title against Asuka.
The match was confirmed on tonight’s episode of SmackDown (May 15th) during the middle of Carmella’s Royal Mellabration.

During the start of the ceremony, Carmella was looking to garner praises from the WWE Universe. When Carmella didn’t get the response she was looking for, she praised herself by saying that she was better than Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss, Nia Jax and Ronda Rousey, Trish Stratus and Lita combined.

This brought out SmackDown General Manager Paige to crash and join the in-ring celebration. Paige would go on to inform Carmella that she will be working the Money in the Bank event in a title match against Asuka. Asuka joined Carmella and Paige for a face to face confrontation but Carmella retreated to the back.
