SmackDown Women’s Title Match set for SummerSlam

Tonight (July 24th) on SmackDown Live, Becky Lynch moved one step closer to recapturing the SmackDown Women’s Title. After weeks of picking up wins against the SmackDown Women’s roster, Lynch earned another big victory when she defeated the current title holder Carmella in a non-title singles match.

Earlier in the night, Carmella’s partner in crime James Ellsworth, who played a critical role during Carmella’s matches against Asuka at Extreme Rules and Money in the Bank, was fired and removed from SmackDown.

Carmella confronted Paige for the firing of Ellsworth but assured that after defeating Charlotte Flair and Asuka twice, she would defeat Lynch as well.

Despite some outside attacks and dirty tatics in the ring, Lynch was able to trap Carmella in the Dis-Arm-Her forcing Carmella to tap out and punch her ticket to SummerSlam.

Already scheduled for SummerSlam is a Raw Women’s Title match where Ronda Rousey will challenge Alexa Bliss for the gold.
