WrestleMania 35 is just around the corner and the SmackDown Women’s Title picture is still blurry. It was originally rumored that Lacey Evans would get the privilege to challenge Asuka for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
As reported by Wrestling Inc. via the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the plans for Evans lacing up her boots against the champion seem to be off. The current plan is to have a feud with Natalya on RAW. This feud would make sense partly because Evans started the Royal Rumble match this year against Natalya.
With Evans out of the equation, this leads the door wide open for Asuka’s opponent. Current speculation suggests that Asuka could be defending her title in a Triple Threat on the Grandest Stage against Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville.
WWE is currently hinting at a break up between Rose and her Fire & Desire partner, Sonya Deville and have been doing so since Rose eliminated Deville in the Battle Royal during the Evolution pay-per-view. Rose then tagged herself in to capitalize on an elimination at Survivor Series that would have belonged to Deville. More recently, Deville arguably ruined Rose’s title match at Fastlane, while Rose returned the favor on the following SmackDown.
Do you think Mandy and Sonya would make a good Triple Threat with Asuka? If not, who else would you prefer instead? Discuss your thoughts in the comments.
