Sonya Deville is set to appear on GLAAD Media Awards tonight via a virtual event. This event will take place tonight and will be streaming at 8 P.M. EST on GLAAD’s YouTube and Facebook pages. Deville is the first openly out female Superstar in the history of WWE.
She has spoken many times about how coming out revolutionized her career and has set her up to be a role model to those in the LGBT community.
The GLAAD organization in America originally stood for Gays & Lesbians Alliance Against Defamation. It adopted the GLAAD acronym in 2013. It was formed in 1985 in New York City. Its motto is “To promote understanding, increase acceptance, and advance equality.”
