According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Sasha Banks’ concussion sustained at a recent house show may be impacting the WWE’s (more specifically, Vince McMahon’s) direction for her going forward.
Original plans for her included going head to head with Charlotte for the Women’s Championship at SummerSlam. Now those plans are possibly in doubt.
Dave Meltzer of The Observer reports that the status of the injury is unknown and he has not received updates on the former NXT Women’s Champion’s status. He notes that she also dealt with another injury earlier this year involving her knee.
Apparently, McMahon has drawn parallels with The Boss and recently retired Daniel Bryan. He believes that both wrestlers can only wrestle at one level, giving it their all, making them injury-prone. And the plan right now is to give Banks all the time she needs to complete examinations, recover, and attempt to have her tone down her in-ring style to avoid having her young career suffer the same fate as Bryan’s.
How do you feel about this news? Should Sasha Banks tone down her style? Whatever the case, we here at Diva Dirt send well wishes to The Legit Boss.
