Knockouts gold was on the line tonight as TNA landed in Las Vegas for Rebellion.
The Knockouts World Tag Team Champions, Spitfire, took on the team of Decay. And Knockouts World Champion, Jordynne Grace, looked to defend her title against Steph De Lander.
We start off the night at Countdown to Rebellion, as the challengers Rosemary and Havok make their entrance. The champions of Dani Luna and Jody Threat arrive in tow with Lars Frederiksen, member of the punk rock band Rancid.
Luna and Rosemary start things off, and Rosemary immediately takes a bite out of Luna. Threat manages to make the tag in and Spitfire’s tag team prowess is on impressive display. Rosemary makes the tag out and Luna meets the powerhouse in Havok.
Eventually, Threat makes the hot tag in and is all over the opposing team. Luna finds herself cornered and Threat launches a senton from the top rope to Decay on the outside. Threat tries to go for it again but gets caught on the top rope by Havok. With the help of Luna, the two double powerbomb Havok to take her out. And, the team of Spitfire manage to isolate Rosemary and finish her for the win.
Post-win, Masha Slamovich comes out chain in hand and is not alone. Alisha Edwards, who has been lobbying for the two to become a tag team for the past few weeks, is seemingly on the same page with a kendo stick. The makeshift duo taunt the retaining champions, with sights set on the gold.
Edwards appears later on in the night, and it is apparent that this relationship with Slamovich is purely mutual.
Before the Knockouts Championship match can even get underway, George Iceman demands the audience rise for the special spectator in this bout, Ash By Elegance.
The challenger De Lander arrives with her hired help, the Good Hands, and Grace arrives ready for whatever her opposition has up her sleeve. Grace charges De Lander as soon as the opening bell rings. However, the size advantage proves to be a challenge for Grace as De Lander manages to overpower her throughout the match.
Grace is put in a predicament and hopes to take her out with a sleeper hold. However, the Good Hands get involved deterring Grace from her win. Grace missteps and accidentally knocks out the referee, with the Good Hands seemingly taking the referee shirt and going for the three-count.
The lights go out and PCO makes the save for Grace. De Lander tries to use her charms against him but gets chokeslammed for her own good. Kon arrives to take him out and sets his on Grace to put her out once and for all.
The lights go out again, to a returning Sami Callihan and saves Grace from this impending mayhem. Grace finally manages to use her tricks against De Lander, and hits the Juggernaut Driver to retain her title.
