NJPW announced STARDOM will once again be part of their wrestling super show WrestleKingdom 16.
This is the third year the Joshi promotion joins NJPW at the Tokyo Dome and the fifth time performing at their events.
On their official website NJPW wrote:
Wrestle Kingdom 16 night two on January 5 2022 will see the best of STARDOM compete in a special matchup.
This marks the fifth time STARDOM has been a part of NJPW events. January 4 2020 and January 5 2021 saw STARDOM showcase matches for live crowds in the Tokyo Dome, while September 4 & 5 saw kickoff matches at Wrestle Grand Slam in MetLife Dome.
On January 4th 2020, for the first time ever STARDOM had a match at Wrestle Kingdom 14. The history-making match saw Arisa Hoshiki and Mayu Iwatani take on Hana Kimura and Giulia in a match exclusively for those in attendance.
On January 5, 2021, Saya Kamitani, Azumi and World of STARDOM Champion, Utami Hayashishita faced Maika, Natsupoi and Himeka.
The following night Mayu Iwatani and Tam Nakano took on Donna Del Mondo’s Giulia and Syuri.
More recently Momo Watanabe and Saya Kamitani fought Maika and Lady C at Grand Slam on September 4 and Watanabe and Kamitana faced the duo of Giulia and Syuri the following night.
