Well, it’s been 11 years Stephanie McMahon was “all grown up now”, and marriage and three kids later, it was probably time for new music.
As debuted at last week’s WWE Hall of Fame ceremony when she inducted Trish Stratus, the new song — and titantron — have officially been released by WWE.
The theme, ‘Welcome to the Queendom’, seemingly referencing her position as the most powerful woman in WWE (and the wrestling business), is not too dissimilar from her previous one and sticks with a midtempo female-led rap.
Given Stephanie’s increasingly rare appearances on TV, we’re not quite sure why WWE has sprung for a new song and video for the Billion Dollar Princess, but as we mentioned — it’s been 11 years since her on-screen character turned from spoiled rich girl to being “All Grown Up”. The new theme likely reflects her latest change in circumstance as her on-screen and real life personas merge into one: a powerful businesswoman, wife and mother who is successfully juggling all three.
Check out the new song below:
To steal a line from Booker T, “Can you dig it, sucka?” Or should Stephanie slap the holy hell out of whoever chose the new song?
