Tonight’s AEW Dynamite is in Omaha, Nebraska tonight, and the women’s division braves the blizzard with some heated feuds and gold on the line.
Billie Starkz looks to fight for some gold on AEW tonight as she faces “The CEO” Mercedes Moné for her TBS Championship. The two have been throwing some drinks in each other’s faces for quite some time, but look to see who walks out the face of TBS tonight.
The more experienced Moné takes a crack a Starkz and has a headstrong start, but Starkz catches the CEO and takes it high risk to the outside to turn the match around.
Moné drives her knees into Starkz taking the air out of her and props her up on the top rope for a Superplex. She goes for a Three Amigos, but Starkz counters. The two are on an even playing field and look to just find the pinfall. But, Moné meets an Air Raid Crash into the corner and gets dropped to save herself with a rope break.
Starkz takes a chance but ends up crashing on the apron with a Senton, and Moné locks in the Statement Maker to retain her title. Even with the win, “The CEO” makes sure Starkz has heard her statement loud and clear.
Backstage, Moné is with Renee Paquette as she boasts her victory. “The CEO” wonders though, who trained her…
Also tonight, Willow Nightingale and Marina Shafir get into it during the AEW World Championship match between Cope and Jon Moxley.
Kris Statlander looks to get a rematch with Megan Bayne tonight, after being dropped by her for the past few weeks. Bayne has been on a dominant streak ever since arriving to AEW and even took out the AEW Women’s World Champion, “Timeless” Toni Storm, last week. Speaking of, Storm is on commentary for this match tonight.
Bayne’s impressive strength outpowers Statlander, but the former TBS champion looks to take it high risk for high reward.
The two trade shots in the ring, but Penelope Ford tries to get involved and unfortunately gets caught and is sent to the back. Statlander shows she has some strength of her own and sends Bayne crashing on the canvas.
Bayne sends a message to Storm and catapults Statlander towards the champion. With Statlander dazed, Bayne drops her with a finish for the win.
Post-match, Storm and Bayne go at it as they try to get separated. Storms knows Bayne is a woman of a few words, but will let her actions speak for themselves as she puts the title on the line against Bayne at Dynasty.
The action doesn’t stop with just Dynamite however as next Saturday on Collision, Julia Hart and Queen Aminata look to go at it for a third time on Slam Dunk Saturday.
