Summer Rae, real name Danielle Moinet, had a recent interview with the TWC Show in where she stated she would be open for a WWE return in some capacity.
Moinet was with WWE from 2011 to 2017. During her time with the company, she had several storylines that included Fandango’s dancer which developed into a feud with Layla and was also involved in an popular angle with Rusev/Lana/Dolph Ziggler.
She also joined the cast of Total Divas during the slap heard around the world with Natalya.
During her interview with the TWC Show, she explained that she would be open to coming back to WWE in perhaps a broadcasting or hosting role. She explained that she has thoracic syndrome so she wouldn’t be able to return full-time but would be able to do some part-time work even if it was in the ring.
“I love WWE. I haven’t gone to other promotions because I know how that is. With WWE, I feel like my loyalty is to them. Hopefully, one day, I’ll have a husband and a baby, but if I don’t have a man, but I do have a baby because I adopt, I would want them to see me. I love wrestling and would be okay with going back. I would be open to any kind of broadcasting or hosting position. I think it would be cool to have an on-camera woman who has been in the locker room and done that kind of stuff. It’s an amazing company and they are always growing.” [h/t Fightful]
She commented on if she were to return in a future Royal Rumble.
“I imagine that, if I ever came back to WWE and was in the Royal Rumble, I imagine I would have to go blonde. If they played my music and I came out [with red/blonde hair], people would be confused.”
Moinet further added that she had a good relationship with Vince McMahon when she was with the company and wasn’t afraid to speak with him on any concern that she may have had.
Vince loved me. I love Vince. I would walk straight into Vince’s office all the time. Vince did not scare me at all. You have to be respectful, I would never just walk into his office, I would knock and wait. Whenever I was having an issue or thinking of leaving, I went and talked to him. I respect him and wanted to tell him where my head was at with the injury. I did try to quit, but I was injured and was like, ‘bring me back or let me go’ because I couldn’t go do other things, but I was still getting injury pay.”
In October, Moinet posted on her Instagram that it marked her seven year in-ring debut on the main roster. In that post she captioned it with saying she loves and misses the WWE Universe.
