Today’s the biggest day of the summer for WWE as SummerSlam will air tonight. We have only two women’s matches on the card but hopefully they both steal the show.
Shayna Baszler vs. Ronda Rousey – MMA Rules
Asuka (c) vs. Bianca Belair vs. Charlotte Flair – WWE Women’s Title

Shayna Baszler vs. Ronda Rousey – MMA Rules
NICK: The rumors are swirling that Rousey’s second run is almost up. Crazy thing is once she teamed up with and now rival to Baszler she has started to care again. Besides her promo work still being hard to handle, you can tell when Rousey cares and that shines through. Baszler being a badass is always my favorite type of Baszler. I think the winner is going to depend on if Rousey’s time is done or not, but for once she feels like an underdog in this to me and has the least likely chance to win.
WINNER: Shayna Baszler
GARY: I feel like this is maybe too safe to assume Rousey is losing here with the rumours that she is leaving WWE but maybe I’m overthinking this. Gonna go with what I want though, Baszler wins and maybe gets a push as a badass tweener that goes straight for Ripley?
WINNER: Shayna Baszler
COLBY: Given how rushed this storyline was, I have to assume this is Ronda’s last match for the time being. If that’s the case, there’s no reason for her to win. I hope they beat the crap out of each other (in the safest, most entertaining way possible, of course) because Baszler has long needed something to make her a credible threat again. We saw a glimpse of it a year ago when she challenged Liv, but now it’s time to really lean into it regardless of Rousey’s status.
WINNER: Shayna Baszler
Asuka (c) vs. Bianca Belair vs. Charlotte Flair – WWE Women’s Title
NICK: I think I am more excited about this match than most because it could steal the show if booked right. There’s a lot of variables at play including IYO SKY with her briefcase with Bayley as well. Although Bayley will likely now be focused on Shotzi moreso. I think it is too soon for SKY to cash in. I think the build needs to be longer and have the crowd get behind her because right now I’m not feeling it.
I can rule out Bianca winning because I just don’t think they are giving her back a title this soon. Asuka should retain but that Charlotte undefeated streak at SummerSlam has me thinking the obvious here.
WINNER: Charlotte Flair
GARY: The real story coming out of this match will Flair vs Belair but that feud does not need the belt, Asuka can win here and move on to her next feud. I am admittedly not as invested in this match as I should be but I am excited to see what the three do together, Charlotte has been off this time around but she always delivers in big matches.
Additional prediction: IYO SKY will attempt to cash in after this match with Bayley but Shotzi will interfere. The cash in won’t be official so SKY keeps the case.
WINNER: Asuka
COLBY: I have to agree with a lot of the complaints about this feud. It’s largely been Bianca vs. Charlotte despite Asuka being champion. We probably shouldn’t be surprised at this point, but that doesn’t take away the disappointment. Charlotte has yet to lose a triple threat match at SummerSlam, which is an interesting stat to consider. But I hope that streak ends. Personally, if Asuka doesn’t walk out as champion, then it better be IYO. I won’t officially predict a cash-in, but I will predict Asuka retaining at least because there’s still plenty they could do with this reign.
