Tonight at SummerSlam, Team B.A.D. (Naomi, Sasha Banks and Tamina Snuka), Team Bella (Alicia Fox, Brie and Nikki Bella) and Team PCB (Paige, Charlotte and Becky Lynch) face off in a Three-Team Elimination Tag Team match. Which team will reign supreme? The Diva Dirt team weighs in:
Chris: I really don’t have a ton to say just because there hasn’t been a huge storyline here. Sure, the introduction of Charlotte, Becky, and Sasha has been fun and the matches for the most part have been terrific since the girls have been given more time, However- WHY are these three fighting? Because all women secretly hate each other? As Jim Ross recently said, add in a personal issue between some of these girls and you have magic. With that being said, I am still looking forward to seeing what these 9 can put together, especially in this match since to my knowledge there’s never been a triple threat tag match with three people on each team, male or female. I’ll go out on a limb and say whomever picks up the fall here is probably next in line to challenge Nikki Bella, so I’ll predict Charlotte picks up the win for Team PCB.
Cryssi: Up until TakeOver last night, I was really excited for this match. Now I’m not even sure if they can capture even a fraction of the perfection that Sasha and Bayley created last night. I was on Twitter this morning and saw that someone was saying the match was going to suck because Tamina and Brie were the weak links. Number one, to even compare Brie and Tamina together is ridiculous. And two, regardless of who is considered weak, there are some super strong workers in the match that can make it amazing. For all you haters out there let me refresh your memory just a little bit. This whole Divas Revolution for the main roster began last summer when Brie Bella and Stephanie McMahon began their iconic feud that culminated in a match that pushed Nikki to the moon. Brie is an excellent worker when she is given the spotlight, just liked she proved countless times last summer. Anyway, as far as the match tonight goes, I love Team Bella and Team BAD, because I feel they’re both actual teams. They have chemistry and purpose, whereas as PCB is just kind of thrown together. I honestly feel like Team PCB is going to end up winning. I feel like Team Bella will eliminate Team BAD, and then PCB will take out Team Bella with Charlotte pinning Nikki, and giving her a reason to feud for the title next. I kind of hope I’m wrong.
Erin: The momentum seems to be swinging in every direction in this feud, so it’s not exactly reliable to predict this off of the standard “whoever had momentum going into the PPV is going to lose” tactic. However, I think my vision for Night of Champions (Charlotte vs. Nikki vs. Sasha) requires that Charlotte get the win here, probably by making Nikki tap out. She’ll claim that that entitles her to a Divas Title match, but Sasha did the same thing on Raw, so she’ll want a shot as well. That’ll lead us to a Triple Threat. This match isn’t being set up to alter the division too dramatically (the stakes just aren’t there), so I think a “feel good” win for the babyfaces is likely. Team PCB wins.
Jack: What with the Divas Revolution starting as a means to improve competition and – most importantly to Paige, Naomi and Tamina – unseat Nikki Bella, the tide should finally start to turn against Team Bella following a jockeying for position in recent weeks. I predict that Team PCB will walk away the winners, and those three fan favourites’ loyalty to one another will truly be tested as one of them emerges as #1 contender.
Josue: Although I do wish the stipulation for this match was a Survivor Series Style Elimination Tag match instead of this one member fall eliminates an entire team, I do think it leaves a chance for some friction to occur between each team. After all, one team member’s mistake can cost her entire team the win! On the winning side, the Diva who picks up the win can claim bragging rights for getting the win for her team! Since the launch of the Divas Revolution, we’ve gotten longer matches with fresh match ups but no real story for fans to bite into. I think after this SummerSlam match, the Divas title picture will have a more clear direction as to who will be the next contender for Nikki’s title; a member from either Team B.A.D or Team PCB. That being said, I think Team PCB will be the last team standing with one of their babyface representatives taking on the heel champion in Nikki Bella.
