Super Show-Down Discussion Post

Today on the WWE Network, WWE will present their Super Show-Down special. The card is stacked with three Women matches.

The IIconics return to their home of Australia where they’ll on the team of Asuka and Naomi:

At WWE Super Show-Down, The IIconics will have an opportunity back up their claim that they are the trendsetters for the future of SmackDown LIVE when they take on Asuka and Naomi in tag team action.

The tension between these Superstars has boiled for quite some time. Earlier this year, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce shocked the WWE Universe when they defeated Becky Lynch and Asuka in a tag team bout. If that wasn’t enough of a reason to brag, the besties went on to also gloat that they were the first Superstars to beat Asuka on SmackDown LIVE.

From there, The IIconics set their crosshairs on another former Women’s Champion, Naomi, who also fell victim to the pair’s dubious numbers game. But, when the nefarious duo attacked their glowing adversary after she scored a huge win over Royce, The Empress of Tomorrow came to Naomi’s aid and sent the IIconics packing.

At WWE Super Show-Down, it’ll be an even playing field as Asuka and Naomi take on The IIconics. Can Royce and Kay pull out an IIconic moment in Melbourne, or will they learn a lesson or two from The Glow and The Empress of Tomorrow?

The Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey teams up with the Bella Twins to take on the Riott Squad:

Perhaps this showdown was inevitable. Nikki & Brie Bella were at SummerSlam to witness Rousey best Alexa Bliss to win her first Raw Women’s Championship, both were also at ringside during Rousey’s championship coronation on Monday Night Raw, and both were on hand when Stephanie McMahon attempted to take sole credit for the Women’s Evolution. The Baddest Woman on the Planet responded to Stephanie’s braggadocios claims by locking the Raw Commissioner in an Armbar, and Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan of The Riott Squad were among the Superstars to help McMahon at ringside, while the Bellas stood by the new titleholder in the ring.

While the WWE Universe is likely thrilled at the idea of The Bellas teaming with the Rowdy titleholder, underestimating the dangerous Riott Squad would be a big mistake. The tumultuous trio made an immediate impact by spreading destruction throughout Raw and SmackDown LIVE ever since they debuted, making a name for themselves and proving they are as cunning as they are capable.

And finally, Charlotte Flair challenges Becky Lynch for the SmackDown Women’s Championship in a title rematch:

The animosity that has grown to a fever pitch between former best friends SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair is much too great to be settled in one match. Perhaps it is fitting then that, after The Irish Lass Kicker captured the title from The Queen at WWE Hell in a Cell, the two Superstars will now battle in Melbourne, Australia’s MCG at WWE Super Show-Down.

And they’ll look to tear each other apart from the word go.

The very essence of a champion is ingrained in Charlotte’s DNA, and she is determined to return to the top of the SmackDown Women’s division. However, Becky’s hunger to remain supreme over the blue brand’s Women’s Division has triggered something vicious inside of her. From the moment she slapped Charlotte at SummerSlam, Lynch’s every word and action made it clear that she would stop at nothing to win her second SmackDown Women’s Championship. It was a goal she achieved at WWE Hell in a Cell, and though Charlotte extended her hand to congratulate the new champion, Lynch was anything but gracious in her moment of victory, declining her former friend’s olive branch and raising her new title over her head.

Maiden Ireland may have bested The Queen on one night, but can she do so again when they meet in the Land Down Under?
