Update: WWE WrestleMania’s Twitter account has removed the tweet that included Carmella and Billie Kay in this match. It is not known at this time if they will be involved. We will keep you updated on this.
The speculation for the past week is true, a multi-tag team match will be taking place on Night One of WrestleMania on April 10. It will be a Tag Team Turmoil match featuring four (or five) teams – two from RAW and three from SmackDown. It will be Lana/Naomi vs. Dana Brooke/Mandy Rose vs. The Riott Squad vs. Natalya/Tamina (maybe vs. Carmella/Billie Kay).
The original announcement on tonight’s RAW about this match did not include Carmella/Billie Kay. The original post by the WWE WrestleMania Twitter did not include them either. Minutes later, they updated a new graphic and article from WWE.com that includes Carmella/Billie Kay. That graphic has now been removed with the post deleted.
In a segment backstage all of the teams confronted the champions and Kay appeared by herself stating that Carmella was finalizing her review of Kay’s resume.
The winner of this match will face the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler on Night Two of WrestleMania on April 11.
Jax & Baszler defeated RAW Women’s Champion Asuka and Rhea Ripley on tonight’s RAW. Asuka went up top for a high-risk maneuver as the match was reaching its end to try and put Baszler away. Ripley then turned on her WrestleMania opponent and knocked her off the turnbuckle to the outside. After driving Asuka face-first into the ringside floor, Ripley threw her back in the ring. Baszler then hit a running knee and pinned the RAW Women’s Champion to get the win.
