After this week’s SmackDown we have new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions and their names are Tamina & Natalya.
What makes this win extra special is it is the first women’s title that Tamina has won in her 11-year career with the company. Natalya is a former Divas Champion and SmackDown Women’s Champion. The new champions get emotional over their win on Talking Smack with Tamina giving her heartfelt thanks.
In her speech, Tamina thanks Natalya first and foremost for believing in her and being on her side. She then thanks her family including her children for sharing her with the WWE Universe and her father for showing her the beautiful business. She continues to thank the fans and the people behind the scenes. Putting it into words how much this means to her is something she says she can’t do.
Natalya then states that the championships aren’t just gold, they are passports to every single corner of the company and they represent the women’s division. No matter the brand, she states that they are putting everyone on notice.
Tamina & Natalya defeated Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax ending their second reign at 103-days. There has now been a total of seven teams to hold the tag team titles since the inception of the belts in February 2019. Baszler & Jax have the most days combined as a team at 215-days. Asuka holds the longest individual combined days over her two reigns at 222-days.
